GRAND OF NEW MEXICO – GENERAL ORDER # 3                 16 MARCH 2010

1.  Notice is given that the Grand of New Mexico's Grand Scratch and Convention is June 17th, 2010 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Host Pup Tent is LOCO PT 7, VFW Post 401, 2011 Girard SE, Albq. New Mexico. Convention Chairperson is Cootie Kathie Schiebel. Details for the convention have been sent to each Pup Tent and Grand Officer, including the PGCC. Make plans to attend the festivities.

2.  Your attention is invited to the Supreme-By-Laws regarding Delegate and Alternate Fees. Fees are $2.00 per delegate and $2.00 per alternate for each 10 members or fraction thereof. (eg., your membership is 19 then you have 2 delegate votes – that's $4.00 for primary delegates and $4.00 for alternates plus $2.00 for the Seam Squirrel for a total of $10.00). If your membership total jumps to 21, you will be required to send an additional $4. The By-Laws state delegate fees and alternate fees must be paid even if no members attend the Grand Scratch/Convention. Fees shall be paid to the Grand Quartermaster by June 1st 2010.

3.  All Pup Tents are reminded that the Grand of New Mexico has three primary missions:

a.  Support to hospitalized veterans and their families.

b.  Obtain new and reinstated members for the VFW and the MOC.

c.  Support the VFW National Home for Children.

4.  All Seam Squirrels are reminded that elections and installation of shave tails for 2010-2011 must be completed by March 31st 2010. You are reminded to send a copy of the Election Report to the Grand QM/Adj.

5.  As stated in paragraph 3 above, one of our primary programs is signing up new members in the VFW  so let's get the Booster Reports to PGC Felix Coca so we get our due-credit. Also, sign up new and reinstated members in the MOC. Don't forget your Hospital Reports - get them in to All*Star Past Grand Commander Cathy Brock for submission to Supreme and get your hard work recognized this year. We are behind last years' numbers, so please get them submitted now.

6.  Let's all recommit ourselves to the "PARTNERS IN PROGRESS YEAR" (VFW-VFWA/MOC-MOCA) and continue to lead the White Division as we have all year.

7.  ONE LAST IMPORTANT COMMENT:  As members of the VFW and MOC you CAN sign up new and reinstated VFWA and MOCA members and get credit for yourself. Please help them get 100%..

8.  All Pup Tents were given or mailed a new blank Seam Squirrel Report Form at Mid-Winter or shortly after, and are expected to have it filled out and submitted at the Grand Scratch, June 17th 2010.

Among other requirements, this must be done to be eligible for any Pup Tent/Seam Squirrel awards.

9.  My Thanks to each line officer and everyone in our 11 Pup Tents in the Grand of New Mexico for an outstanding year. May God bless all of you and your families and this great state.
